Ellie and I had two major editing sessions after school. One on the 24th of January, and one on the 9th of February. We did some minor adjustments and editing in our lessons, but most of the editing was done within these two sessions.

24th of January
On our first session after school on the 24th of January was mostly uploading all of our footage and placing it roughly in the right order. We had a lot of footage as me and Ellie filmed everything two/three times at slightly different angles to make sure we had everything alright. Due to my camera running out of battery, we had to use Ellie's camera to film the subsequent parts, so we had to compile the footage from two separate cameras. We did this before the editing session at home and had all the footage on one memory stick (however we forgot to include the footage we'd filmed on the 20th of January, which was then put in during our second session). Some of our shots were quite long as well, for example on the shot of Erika climbing the fence, she actually got stuck on the fence while trying to jump down, so we had to cut out about fifteen seconds of stillness before she actually jumped. We cut that out, but mostly it was just putting everything in order. We then added in the footage from the 20th of January in our next lesson, but our rough cut was mostly finished after this session. We weren't very familiar with iMovie as an editor, so we were sort of slow to figure out how it worked, but it was very easy to get the hang of once we knew what we were doing.

9th of February
Since the rough cut was finished in January, this editing session was mostly going back in and fixing errors and mistakes that were made in the first editing session. We decided having our credits as a separate part at the end with separate footage disrupted the flow of the film, and didn't really work, so we went back in and adding them after key points during the action. We decided, when placing our credits to make sure they corresponded with key points of action to give them more impact. We also added in sound effects. Bear, the dog, was sort of difficult and rowdy on the day so we had to edit some of his parts. Because it was a new place, he was very excited so couldn't pretend to be scared. He whimpered during a previous shot of film which was later cut out, so we overlaid this with the part where we actually needed him to whimper. He also wouldn't bark on cue, so we had to add in the sound of a dog barking over the top. We also added in our music, and we decided on two pieces that we put in, and I'll talk about those in a later post.
After this editing, our film was finished, and we were able to upload it to YouTube and start our evaluation.
