Film openings are usually like the Prologue to the original story. Some films may give background to the series of events that take place, or just introduce you to the world of that film. Either way, not most of the actual plot of the story takes places in the first two minutes. Usually the production and distributing company are introduced during the beginning, like how Crimson Peak began.

Ellie and I decided we would most like to do a supernatural horror, as it's a genre both of us are interested in, and we had a lot of ideas for what we could do. To begin with, we brainstormed what we thought the conventions of a supernatural horror would be. The lighting in supernatural horrors is usually very lowkey and natural. We also decided it would be best for the white balance on the camera to be set to a very pale and bleak looking colour.

The locations stated on our settings part are all abandoned buildings we found on urbanexplorer which we thought looked interesting.

We also decided that the costume of our character would have been very muted in colour because we don't want the colours to stand out very much among the bleak colouring of the rest of the shots. We also didn't want the colours of the costume to look particularly bright or happy.
